A Highlight of our Trip!! Not the best pic though!!
Over the weekend Brenna and I went across to the mainland we went to a town called Abbottsford, about 20 minutes from the US boarder, where some of Brenna's family friends live. Just like most BC towns it has views of mountains in every direction!! But this town is a little different the mountain ranges you see are in the US!! from the balcony you can see Mt Baker which is Washington state and most of the year it has some type of snow cover.. That was quiet bizzar for me we are so used to being only sourrounded by Australia not an other country. Abbotsford is about 70k south of Vancouver and its a total different world! Apart from having condo's everywhere and I mean every where!! the town is a litle country (Red Neck) the pubs mainly plays country music. A little different than I'm used to but it was a good time! SUV's (4wd to us Aussie's) are every where in this country, it helps when petrol is only 95cents! I want one on steroids like the one below!! All in all had a nice few days away but the highlight of the trip (Pic above) was the ferry ride from Horseshoe bay (Vancouver) to Naniamo (Vancouver Island) this trip take 1.5hrs and it was totally flat but about half hr from arrival we had a massive pod of dolphins (when I say massive I mean massive at least 500!) start jumping out of the water as the caught the waves from the bow!! this was so spectacural!! they were every where jumping upto 6 ft out of the water putting a great show on for us!! We tried to take pictures but they didn't work out:( they did this for about 5 to 10 minutes. It was totally magical.
Now Im back home just counting the days down til I start work (as a Lifty if you forgot!) 18 days to go!!
