Little Fact #2

Did you know Canadians speed limits are in KM not miles like there southern neighbours? The wheather is in Celcius (C) not ferinheit (F) like there southern neighbours, but If your in the building industry they dont go by the metric millimetres (mm) but the imperal (Inch) like there southern neighbour! They a strange bunch!!

Drought what drought??

Hello everyone:) hope all is well. Im still having a fantastic time even if the weather isn't! Over the past few days the weather has not been too friendly. The nite before last there was a massive storm, Lightening and thunder (which I hear is very unusual at this time of year) the storm started about 9.30pm and has wind gusts upto 100 mph (160K), this ripped trees straight out of the ground and snapped plenty of branches off too! There was also over 98mm of rain in that one storm to add to the day previous of non stop rain! It rained more here in one night then it rain for all our winter (nearly) Brenna and I went for a drive around and some trees had blocked roads, street signs were lying flat some cladding on some homes had been pulled off, there was holes in fences and debris everywhere! It was one of those 1 in every 30 year storms! The little rivers around here are well and truely full and are all making a hurry to the beach!! BC Hydro (the power company) will be kept busy for a few more days to come! There are over 70,000 houses thats in BC with no power as many lines had ended up on the ground ripped from the powerpoles by falling tress or just the entence winds! Most of Comox had now power til late afternoon and some well into the evening. But today its perfect clear blue skys the mountains clear in the back ground and not a breath of wind. Go figure! I should go for a ride! Bye
