Ice Hockey is COOL!!

Hi All it that time again for a little Dan Update!
On the weekend Brenna and I went to see an Ice hockey game! It was the Glacier Kings V Campbell River Storm! The are an Under 21 team but they get behind these NHL maybes! there was about 450 people at the game so the atmosphere was gr8! Its a fast action packed game, there is always something to watch and usually if you blink too long you will miss something!!
In the end the home team the kings won 6 to 3! the game has 3 periods of 20mins! They slam eachother against the was its just a fantastic game to watch!! I knew some of the rules thru playing playstation (see they can be educational) but some times I was just guessing?? All in all the evening was action packed and I will definately be going again and at $8 if not a $$ nite out!

Then on Sunday we went for a drive to see where the other team came from Campbell River.. CR is 45ks nth of Comox and Its a nice drive there, there is still some autumn colour in the trees and the mountains in the background with there snow capped tops make it picture perfect! CR is the world capital for salmon, So in sporning season the rivers are over flowing with them and the bold eagles among other birds are filling their bellies having a feast, so I will have to check that one out! CR is a fishing town and many houses live right on the water. After the storm last week the beaches are filled with driftwood. A view us back in Ausland are not acoustomed too! scattered along the beaches are driftwood carvings! these are done using big pieces of the driftwood and the detail is amazing As you can see!!
Campbell River has many native totems in the area, We drove past a native cemetery, there were 3 massive totems there the bigger they are the higher up in the community they were! they must ahve been big trees and the workman ship is awesome, it must have taken a while to finsh these..
